Study on Design of Vehicle Structure Considering Deformation Process of Vehicle

Abstract

The authors aimed to examine the tendency of strength change before and after the deformation of a deformable vehicle, and changed the part length and pipe diameter used for the vehicle. And using the FEM analysis, we compare the Von Mises stress values of each part before and after deformation. We found that the change in the strength of the vehicle when deformed was not greatly affected by the frame length. Analysis results by pipe diameter change confirmed that thin pipe is effective for parts near load input point. We found that the stress value tends to change before and after deformation of parts near the load input point.
