Ordinary machine tools are too large in relation to the workpiece, resulting in a large factory size. If machine tools could be made smaller, it would be easier to reconstruct the production line and reduce the cost of air-conditioning and other equipment by reducing the size of the factory. However, reducing machine size cause reducing body rigidity, and making high-precision processing of steel and other materials difficult. Therefore, in this study, we develop a desktop machine tool that can perform high-precision processing of steel by predicting the machining error caused by the deformation of the machine body from the cutting force and correcting the machining path.
