Abstract

A general blood separation process is performed by centrifugation at a medical institution. In this study, we investigated a method of trapping blood cell components using a microchannel device. Ultimately, the purpose is to easily extract plasma components. This time, we created a stepped shape on the order of microns and implemented a method of physically trapping it. As a result, a step with a height of 1 micron and 3 micron could be fabricated. Then, we examined the possibility of trapping using fine particles of the same size as red blood cells.
