Abstract

Optical components that are expected to be used under adverse environmental conditions must be protected from loss due to degradation, and it is desirable to calculate the life of the product in advance. Optical modules are generally assembled by gluing, soldering, or welding. We assembled modules using a YAG laser and evaluated the weld fixtures based on screening experiments using temperature cycles. We report the results that the number of welding cycles and positional deviations affect the loss variation.
