Abstract
A simple method for judging visual function in the cynomolgus monkey was designed. The principle of this method is to examine whether a monkey watches the eyes of two observers who wear a face hood sticked with a sheet of neutral density filter paper. Thirty-eight normal monkeys and 6 monkeys with pathological findings in the optical system were examined by this method. It was demonstrated that this simple method was very useful for a routine examination of visual function in the cynomolgus monkey kept in a cage individually.
