Abstract
The knowledge and technology developed in the modern day offer the possibility of taking another look at issues through natural science that have heretofore been purely the province of philosophy. Some of the unsolved issues of the day are great, among them the mind-brain problem. Scientists know more today than ever about life processes, which are being studied from numerous different angles, but will the sum of the knowledge gained through these numerous but separate efforts ever solve the mystery represented by the human mind? If physiology is the study of life, what is the name of the study which takes into account the whole human being, including the mind?
