The following three problems are those which will have to be dealt with simultaneously, in the business of manufacturing products from now on: 1.Keeping quality claims in the market at a minimal(Q) 2.Being strong in cost competitivity(C) 3.Shortening the period of time required in development(D) Until now, the paradigm of manufacturing was simply to make partial adjustments to products, using narrow minded analytic thought only to certain parts of a product. It is for this reason that problems give birth to still more problems. This way of doing things is not efficient in getting such problems truly solved. And so, in the new paradigm of manufacturing, we must rid oureseleves of the narrow minded way of thinking we have become so accustomed to, and widen our viewpoints. This time has come when the entire systems must be improved, using purposeful thought. That Which is being demanded here is "Quality Engineering" which is based on the evaluation and improvement of systems'"Functionability", in multidimensional levels space and time, and it is the only way to resolve the three problems of QCD simultaneously in soft engineering.
