抄録

The continuous variable transmission (CVT) is one type of automatic transmission fbr automobiles. Surface machining conditions for the power rollers,which are one of the transmission components, were optimized to increase the torque capacity and other characteristics of a toroidal traction-drive CVT. As a result, the traction generating efficiency was greatly improved over the state before the study, leading to the prevention of oil deterioration, improved unit durability, reduction in size and weight, and lower cost.
