Abstract
This paper reports a case study of using Mahalanobis Distance (D2) for multi-variable analysts. The case is a special health checking of liver function, an application of statistics in medical field using 16 blood biological test results, age and sex. It is important in multi-variable analysis to prepare a good data base. The distribution of a good data base is mostly homogeneous. The variation of the data from a healthy group is small, but not in the group of people with disease, Therefore, it is desirable to obtain the test results from the healthy people. However, it is not easy to do so because of the lack of test items which are necessary to use for judgment of a certain disease, For example, the test items from regular examination are not enough to make judgment in many disease,Fortunately, we took possession of a good biological data base from a group of healthy people, and analysis was made in this report.
