This paper reports an experiment of applying quality engineering methods for a fermentation process. BRN is an enzyme produced from micro organism The enzyme is cultured in a tank in a large scale manufacturing process. To improve productivity, it is necessary to maximize the potency of BRN after the completion of incubation. For this purpose, it is necessary to select the type of fungus which will produce the most potent BRN. The productivity of BRN from micro organism is affected by the composition of culture medium ; its improvement is critical. This experiment reports the improvement of culture medium through the parameter design approach.
