Abstract
This paper introduces “Guidelines for Policy Management JSQC-Std 33-001：2016” developed by The Japanese Society for Quality Control (JSQC) in 2016. There is a standard for “Policy Management” as JIS Q 9023：2003. According to the development of “Guidelines for Daily Management JSQC-Std 32-001：2013”, that has been adapted as JIS Q 9026：2016, JIS Q 9023 is required to be updated as a paired standard with JSQC-Std 32001：2013. While Daily Management can work to “Maintain-plus- enhance” the performance of an organization, Policy Management can work to improve and innovate the organization in a timely manner under ever changing environment. In other words, Policy Management is a key of organization management to overcome changes, and furthermore, to tie changes to business development. It greatly affects sustained success of the organization. This standard consists of the fundamentals and processes of Policy Management, guidelines to implement Policy Management, and the guidelines to promote Policy Management organizationally. This paper introduces the background and the overview of the standard.
