Abstract
Working Group 3 (WG3), composed of quality assurance and certification audit professionals, has pursued research on enhancing the effectiveness of ISO 9001-based audits since 2019. The group initially focused on ISO 9001:2015 Clauses 4 and 6.1, exploring practical implementation within organizations and effective audit approaches. Subsequent studies expanded to the overall construction and operation of quality management systems (QMS) and their strategic integration with business practices. In 2022, WG3 organized four subgroups to study advanced audits, integrated management systems (QMS/EMS/OHSMS), effective internal audits, and SDGs/ESG practices in the food and beverage sector. Research outputs include visualization tools, process-based auditing methods, and sector-specific case studies. Recognizing increasing complexity in business environments and the limitations of conventional audits, WG3 emphasizes audits as tools for organizational capability enhancement. Looking forward, the group plans to launch a new study group with AI utilization in audits and internal reviews as a key focus.
