STUDIES ON THE GENUS SERGESTES(CRUSTACEA, DECAPODA) : I. SERGESTES(SERGIA) JAPONICUS BATE, 1881 AND SERGESTES(SERGIA) MOLLIS SMITH, 1884

Abstract

Sergestid specimens from the Japan Trench, 800-4500m deep are studied. In this paper S. japonicus is described on the base of the morphologies of petasma in male and of coxa of 3rd pereiopods in females. S. mollis from the Atlantic Ocean is noted to be a distinct species.
