Abstract
Genetic algorithms have been quite successfully applied to optimization problems such as scheduling, adaptive control, transportation problems, traveling salesman problems, optimal control problems, and so on. In this paper, we propose an efficient method for solving a system reliability optimization problem based on genetic algorithm. In order to illustrate the effectiveness of the method proposed here, we deal with a numerical example of a reliability optimization problem with incomplete fault detecting and switching(FDS) for allocating redundant units.
