Abstract
The purpose of this study was to clarify the intervention for families through interviews at a child daycare centers that actively provided support to families in hardship. The results of Modified Grounded Theory Approach analysis showed that the intervention was conducted in terms of relationship-buildings among all members of the center. The leading player of support shifted from a homeroom teacher to management staff according to the situation. The foundation of the intervention consisted of the following three factors: family support while building relationships throughout the center, identification of unusual situations and related information, and information sharing within the center. Whenever an unusual situation was identified, decisions were made as needed by the management and responsible staff by considering the situation of involved children and their guardians, and direct intervention by the management and the collaborative intervention with outside organizations were implemented. In all of these intervention processes, managements view on the necessity of intervention played the primary role.
