Abstract
This study aimed to clarify how the mental health of nursery school principals was affected by interpersonal relationship with infants’ parents difficult to cope with. Questionnaire survey was administered to 93 principals of public nursery schools who experienced difficulties in interpersonal relationships with problematic parents of nursery school infants. The results empirically revealed the intergenerational transmission of the personality traits from parents to children and also revealed that principals who received aggressive attitudes from difficult parents in the past have repeatedly experienced fear and anxiety and consequently their mental health has been compromised continuously. To address this issue, nursery school principals should acquire skills to appropriately deal with anger from such parents.
