Abstract
This study investigated the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on parenting anxiety among caregivers of infants and toddlers. We compared pre-pandemic data with results from the pandemic era (2020–2023) for caregivers of children aged 10–11 months and 18–24 months. We evaluated children’s development using the Kyoto Scale of Psychological Development 2020 and examined its relationship with caregiver anxiety. Our findings indicate no increase in parental anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic, nor did we observe any association between children’s developmental status. However, current evaluation tools may not fully capture childcare anxiety in unprecedented circumstances, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, suggesting a need for further research in this area.
