Abstract

Ginza is the Japan's leading commercial district where a lot of people from home and abroad enjoy shopping. Since the Taisho period (1912-1926), such a stroll for shopping in Ginza has been called "Gin-bura". In this study, focusing on the role of café in "Gin-bura", we confirm the locations of 122 cafes as well as the vertical locations and the numbers of tables, prices of a cup of coffee and smoking and Wi-Fi conditions in Ginza. It is made clear that there is the trend of location of café by area and street.
