Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze current status and consciousness of residents of public housing for nuclear disaster evacuees in Fukushima based on the results of a questionnaire survey conducted in January 2017. This study points out that (1) there are many elderly households consisting of single persons or couples, (2) there are few residents that hope to return their home, (3) most residents do not have intentions to move the resident card although many residents hope to live their lives in the public housing for a while, (4) many residents have interaction with other residents, and (5) many residents have anxieties such as their own or families' health and properties at their home.
