This report aims to introduce the characteristics of the port city that is clarify based on questionnaire survey. As a result of conducting the questionnaire survey to administrative agencies, the following was shown. 1) The range of the surrounding zone of the port and harbor area assumed by the port city is classified from the viewpoint of "geographical spread" and "shape of zone". 2) Many issues are pointed out about "landscape", "disaster prevention" and "tourism". 3) We quantitatively clarified the requirements for the connection between port area and city center in port city, by Analytic Hierarchy Process. 4) In many port cities, active proactive efforts to tourism are expected not only now but also in the future.
