Abstract

It was attempted to search resident’s consciousness of the advantageous and disadvantageous effects of vacant lots in two different development phases of new towns. The purpose of this study was to verify whether personal attributes and regional characteristics are related to the evaluation of vacant lots. As a result, it was found that residents who recognize regional revitalization in town tend to evaluate vacant lots effectively. There are many children and regional revitalization in new town. On the other hand, there is declining birthrate and aging society and regional decline in old new town. It is considered that vacant lots are not good impression because population decline increase vacant lots. Therefore, residents in population decline area evaluate vacant lots.
