Abstract

We synthesized three homo-type and two hetero-type pyromellitic acid tetracarboxamides (PMDA-R) and experimentally evaluated their performance as organogelators using isododecane and 2-ethylhexyl isononanoate as oil solvents. We highlighted the differences in rheological measurements regarding viscosity-increasing effects, viscoelasticity, and spinnability between the mixture of homo-type compounds and the hetero-type compound. In addition, we associated functional differences with the morphology of the self-assembled structures observed by TEM.
