The creation of innovation is a key issue for firms. Many existing studies have analyzed the impact of technological knowledge diversification on the creation of innovation by analysis using patent data. However, these studies were conducted on industry or firm level and the impact of the knowledge characteristics within a group of inventors on patent value is unclear. Therefore, we attempted to clarify the type of group of inventors that can create a valuable innovation quantitatively using patent data. Our findings provide new suggestions for firms' technology management strategy.
