There is little research focused on the early history of Germany’s aviation industry that is based on primary sources. Apart from the Junkers documents, there is only scanty corporate documentation of the Weimar/Versailles aircraft industry. 1. Why? Hugo Junkers’ political and economic position; 2. Brief biographical facts about Hugo Junkers; 3. Overview of the documents contained in the Junkers collection in the Archives of the German Museum in Munich.
