Abstract
A case of solid and cystic tumor of the pancreas in a 17-year-old woman complaining of epigastralgia was experienced.
Ultrasonography, CT and MRI revealed a relatively homogeneous and hypovascular mass in the body of the pancreas. Distal pancreatectomy combined with splenectomy was performed. Histological findings were negative for Grimelius staining, positive for α1-antitrypsin and neuron-specific enolase, and no malignant findings like microscopic invasion of the tumor were found. Estrogen and progesteron receptors of the tumor were negative. A review of the literature is also presented here.
