Abstract
Secretory carcinomas of the breast are rare. This paper describes a recent case of juvenile secretory carcinoma of the breast with a review of the literature. A 21-year-old woman was seen at the hospital because of a left breast tumor. The tumor was located under the left nipple (E. A. C. portion), measured 2.5×2.0 cm had an irregular surface, and invaded the areola. A carcinoma of the left breast was suspected. Surgery was performed and image resection showed tumor invasion into the interstitium, reguiring a modified radical mastectomy. Postoperative pathological findings showed that the tumor cells resembled thyroid follicles, formed small ducts in the mammary ducts, and that there were typical eosinophilic and PAS positive secretory substances in both intracellular and extracellular regions. The diagnosis of secretory carcinoma of the breast (stage III: T4n0m0) was made. The prognosis of this disease is relatively good there has been no recurrence, but since axillary lymph node metastasis is not uncommon, we recommend initial treatment of a simple mastectomy with at least an axillary lymph node dissection.
