Abstract
A 59-year-old female was admitted to the hospital because of right hypochondralgia, epigastralgia and fever. On admission cholelithiasis was suspected, but further examination revealed the existence of primaly double cancer in the gallbladder and stomach. Right lobectomy of the liver, resection of extrahepatic bile duct and subtotal gastrectomy were carried out at the same time. In Japan, 14 patients with resectable primary double cancer of the gallbladder and stomach have been reported, but the exact preoperative diagnosis was made in a few patients. Since good prognosis can be expected of surgically treated early gastric and gallbladder cancers, correct preoperative diagnosis and adequate treatment are important for synchronous double cancer of the stomach and gallbradder like this case.
