Abstract
This report describes a case of perigraft seroma around a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) graft during a postoperative chronic period with some review of the literature.
A 55-year-old man underwent a bypass operation between left axillary artery and bilateral femoral artery with knitted Dacron and PTFE grafts for lower extremity disorder resulting from arteriosclerosis obliterans. A hard mass was found at the site of the artificial vessel anastomosis 3 months after the operation. The mass was removed with PTFE graft, which was replaced by knitted Dacron graft, because of suspected pseudoaneurysm. Microscopic and histologic findings revealed that it was perigraft seroma consisting of thin membrane and jelly contents.
