Abstract
Two patients with secondary lymphoedema of the lower extremity were successfully treated by the construction of an enteromesenteric bridge (Kinmonth's operation).
Case 1 was a 75-year-old woman who had swelled right lower extremity after spraining her ankle. Case 2 was a 55-year-old woman who had edematous left lower extremity after radical hysterectomy and irradiation for the uterus cancer. Their symptoms were induced by the local obstruction of lymphatic vessels in the pelvic cavity and this technique was useful in these cases. In this paper operative procedures and operative indication in these 2 cases as well as a review of the literature are described.
