Abstract
Synanthedon formicaeformis was previously recorded from Rebun Island, Hokkaido, Japan. Here, we report another species of the genus Synanthedon that was photographed on the island. The moth found could be a female of S. scoliaeformis japonica, based on the morphology of its antennae and abdomen, although the species is known to be very rare in Japan.
