Abstract

The crossings such as check dams and groundsels cause the movement obstruction of fish and the cut off inhabitant area of rivers, and the fishway has been set up as the measures. However, past fishways have put the focus on the function as the pathway of fish, there are little case considered as inhabitant area. Authors designed and constructed the all section fishway with streambed restoration type by the masonry structure when the revetment of groundsels was improved, and verified the function of flood control and environmental side. From the investigation after construction, the living density of fishes in the fishway was about twice the average living density in upper and lower. And also, it is confirmed that the streambed structure has been maintained without the substantial change when five years were passed by 2010.
