Abstract

Recently, tremendous flood disasters are decreasing due to river improvement and transmission of detailed weather information but urbanized areas have hazardous inundation damages. To mitigate these damages, we have to consider the factor that caused damages. As the result of research, we found that we must think of the balance of safety degree between rivers and sewers from viewpoint of risk potential. Moreover, transmission of observed water level in time, control of flooding water and practical training are necessary for the mitigation of flood disasters. In this paper, we made some proposals of the available techniques for flood disaster prevention and hazard avoidance.
