Abstract

In recent years, it is recognized that providing disaster information to residents properly and residents’ information understanding capability are important for damage mitigation of disaster. In this investigation, the questionnaire survey was conducted on residents about the relation between residents refuge by the eruption of Mt. Usu in 2000, and disaster information. The result of a questionnaire is as follows. 1) Residents depend most on the information from a public office at the time of disaster. 2) Residents need the information that mitigates the anxiety about their life at the time of disaster. 3) Residents desire the system that can get various kinds of information. And they want to get information more quickly.
