Abstract
An algorithm is presented and a program is developed to determine the exterior orientation which is one of the most important steps in 3 dimensional positioning of level 1 B SPOT imagery. Also it was found that polynomial of 15 parameters is the best fit polynomial for exterior orientation determination, where 1st order line function is used for posi-tion (X0, Y0, Z0) and 2nd order line function is used for orientation (κ0, φ0, ω0).
Additional parameters were introduced to the bundle adjustment method and an equation of additional parameters suitable for level 1B SPOT imagery is presented. Application of this equation resulted in 24% improvement in planimetry accuracy and 32% improvement in height accuracy.
