One of the largest rock and soil glide type landslides has been investigated during the past 5 years, and researches on its causes and mechanism have been performed. The paper contains results of the researches and investigations. Clinometers were used for determining the slide area, because no clear boundaries were observed around it. For determination of sliding surfaces, inclinometers were inserted into deep drilling holes, and readings were recorded automatically. As a result, the sliding surfaces were very deep contrary to our anticipation. To find out a vein of water, horizontal and vertical drillings were made, and properties of ground water were analysed. Natural radioactivity of ground surface was surveyed. As the result of investigations, geological condition, mechanism of the movement, properties of ground water, condition of damage of Sabô dams were clarified. Proposed remedies are deep drilling drainages and Sabô dams for protecting the front of the slide and for preventing against debris flow which is caused by slipdown of a part of the slide.
