At the 34 th Annual Meeting of the Japan Neurosurgical Society in 1975, we reported that the most suitable time to assess the operative results in hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage was one year after surgery.
Moreover, we showed some preoperative conditions of the patients which would be able to work fully with or without minimal disability (well), by analysing clinical records of 94 patients.
According 20 cases to the clinical materials previously reported, we investigated the relationships between preoperative neurological and vital signs and the follow up results one year after surgery.
From the results obtained, it is concluded that the preoperative neurological and vital gigns of the patients which will be well are as follows: pupils in normal size with prompt light response, no decerebrate or decorticate regidity, 121-160 mmHg in systolic blood pressure and no dyspnea.
