清初、蘇州府の魚鱗冊に関する一考察 : 長洲県、下二十五都正扇十九図魚鱗冊を中心として

The purpose of this paper is to examine Yu-lin-ce, a land record of the early Qing period. In Zhang-zhou-xian, Su-zhou-fu, land records based on the actual survey was being made during the early Qing period. A land book (Tu-ce) based on the survey of the fifteenth year of Kang-Xi is the earliest of these records, which is an important source material for the study of land problems in this period. The entries of this book, however, are not always accurate. There are some incorrect transcriptions from the survey, and the survey plate (Yu-lin-Tu) itself is not very accurate. Nevertheless, the value of this record is indisputable. We compiled statistics on the land ownership pattern among Ye-hu from this record, taking the above defects into consideration. We found a strong tendency toward the concentration of land in fewer hands, while there were many small Ye-hu. The shape of the tilled land held by Yu was often long strip or rectangular. This field system was a result of the regulations imposed by the village community, and the custom of equal division of land among heirs
