Abstract
This study aims to not only establish an appreciation method that can be positioned as
the earliest stage of art appreciation education for infants and children in the lower grades of elementary school with underdeveloped language but also return it to childcare and educational settings. The non-verbal art appreciation proposed herein is an appreciation method through non-verbal activities, such as physical, musical, and plastic expressions. Furthermore, we examine it with the emotional reactions of infants and children via nonverbal art appreciation, using psychological sensibility research as a basic theory. In this study, we examine the non-verbal appreciation method based on the issues of art appreciation education in early childhood education obtained from the authors' previous research. Additionally, we present a method and step-by-step plan for not only the development of the appreciation method but also the establishment of a method of teaching it.
