iPad, which is a tablet computer, was released by Apple in May 2010. Then, iPad mini, which was a miniaturized iPad, was released. Next, iPad Air and Retina display model iPad mini (called iPad mini 2) , which had a high resolution display, was released in 2013.
This purpose of this paper is to study of actual conditions and cases of improving business efficiency using iPad.
First, we made a secret group, which was able to see by only permitted users, on Facebook. Truck drivers wrote their working, such as Loading, Driving, Unloading, Intermission and Nap, with their location information on the wall in Facebook using iPad. When they could see their location point in location-based information on their wall, they chose it, but when they could not see it, they wrote their location point by themselves.
Next, we made a database for working time management using FileMaker, which was possible to use easy, because of improving business efficiency for working time management.
As a result, a manager could be used to predict the arrival time of the baggage, return time of the truck using iPad, Facebook, and location-based service. Also, comments on the wall was displayed in time series, so a manager could check drivers actions easily. Moreover, a manager could aggregate drivers working time using iPad and FileMaker, in a shorter time than before.
On the other hand, this method was difficult for aged drivers, and sometimes input wrong data. In a further study, we will make an easier method than this method for each trucking companies.
