Validation of CO₂ Emission Estimation Methodology using Traffic Simulation

Abstract

To gain an international acceptance for an evaluation result of CO₂ emission using a traffic simulation model, the Energy ITS project proposes a framework for validation of traffic simulation models and CO₂ emission models, and tries to build a consensus through international workshops. A validation trial to confirm the feasibility of the proposed validation framework was carried out. Furthermore, an experiment on the effect of the Eco-Driving on traffic capacity of signalized intersection was conducted to validate reproducibility of the traffic simulation model.
