New approaches to understand dynamics of protein synthesis in neurons

Abstract

Regulation of protein synthesis is critical for neuronal development and functions. Protein synthesis dynamics is uniquely complex in neurons due to their elaborated cellular shape and activity-dependent response. Here we focus on protein synthesis in neurons and we review its function, associated diseases, and analysis technologies. Various new approaches for analysis of protein synthesis dynamics have been developed, and facilitating research on protein synthesis regulations in neurons.
