The article reports the empirical analysis on the effects of traffic signal head location difference with real vehicles at test track of the Institute of Industrial Science located at Kashiwa-campus of the University of Tokyo. In the case of 'near' signal, drivers tend to pass the intersection rather far upstream location and later time point compared with the case of 'far' signal. The start-up behavior at the onset of green signal can be interpreted by the difference of crossing direction signal head visibility between 'far' and 'near' signal. The right-turners at the signal change interval from green signal after confirming the stopping behavior of counterdirectional through traffic tend to start to move about 1 second later in the case of 'near' signal.
