Abstract
Yabase Field is located in Akita, Japan and started producing oil since 1933. As of March 2012, the cumulative oil and gas production volumes reached 5.67 million (kl) and 1.3 billion (m3), respectively, and it is one of the largest oil field in Japan. While the production peak was observed in the early 1960’s and then the production volume decreased, the field is still on production today. This article provides a brief history of the Yabase field.
