Feeding effect of light hydrocarbons in Fischer-Tropsch reaction on Co/SiO₂ catalyst.

Abstract

When syngas was fed onto Co/SiO₂ catalyst, methane was predominatly formed, whereas, upon contacting gas mixture of syngas and ethene, considerable amount of C₃ and C₄ were formed in the reaction. In addition liquefied hydrocarbons like C5+ was also recognized in FT reaction with cofeeding ethene. A 1:1 mixture of ¹³C₂-C2H4 and C₂H₄ was contacted onto the catalyst, ¹³C₁-C₂H₄ by metathesis was not detected at all.
