Abstract
The development of efficient heterogeneous catalysts to release hydrogen from hydrogen storage materials is an important challenge for the next hydrogen economy. In this study, a highly dispersed monometallic Ru nanoparticles with a mean diameter of 1.7 nm can be successfully synthesized on TiO2 supports, which was effective for the hydrogen production from ammonia-borane. The catalytic activity can be significantly enhanced by the alloying with Ni atoms, giving a remarkably high total turnover number (TTO) of approximately 153,000 over 8 h with an excellent turnover number frequency (TOF) of 900 min-1.
