Abstract
There are recently the needs of the detailed chart of mean annual maximum depth of snow cover in the mountainous area for the development of the water-power source and the utilization of river water. There are commonly no data concerning snow in the mountainous area. The authors made the coaxial diagram in order to show the relation between mean annual maximum depth of snow cover and topographical parameters. By using it, the authors estimated the maximum depth of snow cover in unobserved area and made the detailed chart of mean annual maximum depth of snow cover in a part of Japan, Chiibu and Kanto district. The chnrt made by this method is more detailed than than the charts previously published as showing in Fig4.
