Abstract

This paper reports a design work of snow conveying and storage facilities and an economical assessment of the entire system. (1) The proposed system is technologically feasible. (2) The system has enough snow removal capacity to keep snow-free 10 to 36% of service area. (3) The system has enough air conditioning capacity as to accomodate living quarters of service area. This amounts to save 40% of annual electricity consumption. (4) Construction costs 121.7 billion yen which is considered to be rather costly. (5) The research and development of new technology is needed to substantially lower the construction cost.
