For coloring aluminum anodic oxide film it should be neutralized after anodizing, and alkali is generally used as neutralizing agent when it is anodized in sulphuric acid electrolyte.
To study the state of reaction between anodized surface and neutralizing agents such as NaOH, Na2CO3, Na3PO4, NH4OH, etc. and to compare the coloring, anti-fading and anti-abrasion according to agents, the surfaces before and after neutralizing and coloring were observed with electron microscope.
As a result, Na2CO3 was found to be the most effective neutralizing agent.
