Abstract
The conventional theory of electrolytic polishing mechanism is explained by next three; the polarization of concentration, the viscous diffusion layer, and passivation of the valleys.
I have explained that their theorys are not suitable to account every phenomenon, and I advanced the new theory in accordance with next two experimental fact.
(1) By increasing of metal ion in electrolyte, anodic current efficiency falls gradually, until some constant value. That value continues until life point of electrolyte, keep step with increasing metal ion. The finishing surface is the best quality at that constant current efficiency zone.
(2) On electrolysis, I have caught the current vibration by magnetic oscillation diagram, and reasoning that vibration is alternate periodic variation of passivity and activity of anode plate.
Genrally, electrolytic polished surface blightness is better in higher frequency condition.
Generally, it is known, HCl solution is not suitable to polish for steel, but, I find out that at current vibrating condition, mirrorlike surfacc is get easily.
Then, I adovocate next new theory that mirrorlike surface depends upon alternate periodic passivity and activity of anode plate.
