Abstract
Zinc-iron alloy deposition from alkali hydroxide bath added triethanolamine was studied to obtain a film with high corrosion resistance. The zinc-iron film with 2-3wt% iron shows similar resistance of bright zinc chromate film by the immersion test with 5% NaCl aqueous solution and by salt spray test. The electrolytic conditions to obtain this film are as follows: Zn2+ 23.8-24.8g/l, Fe2+ 1.3-6.2g/l, triethanolamine 1.4-6.7g/l, NaOH 100-120g/l, additive agent 4-6ml/l, current density 3-5A/dm2, bath temperature 20-25°C.
